"Good, but updates feel slow"
Shortform is okay overall, but, like, the new summaries just come out way too slowly for me. I find myself checking back a lot, it’s usually the same stuff there, so it gets a little frustrating...

"I’ve found Shortform to be worth it…"
I’ve found shortform to be worth it as long as I actually use it every week. When I keep up with it, I get enough useful takeaways that the subscription feels justified. Some summaries are definitely better than others, and I do wish the price was a little lower, but since I’m still getting value from it, I’ve kept my subscription.

"Decent summaries, but not worth the hype"
I tried it out because it sounded like it would save me a lot of time, but the reality didn’t really match the promise. Some of the summaries were fine and a few were actually useful, but for the price, I expected a lot more. Cancelling also wasn’t as clear as it should’ve been, which was frustrating. It’s not awful, but it just didn’t feel worth it for me.

"Pretty much exactly what I hoped for"
I had a feeling this was going to be useful, and it kind of proved me right. The summaries are good and easy to get through, and there are a ton of books covered, so I keep finding stuff that fits what I’m already interested in. Definitely handy if you like getting the main ideas without reading every full book.

"Could Be Organized Better"
The organization could be a lot clearer. I found myself getting frustrated trying to figure out where things were or what I was supposed to do next. It’s not the worst experience ever, but it definitely feels like it could use some cleanup because it shouldn’t be this confusing

"refund was easier than I expected"
I totally forgot to cancel before it renewed and figured it was gonna be a whole hassle.. but support replied quickly. They looked at my account, processed the refund, and didn’t make it awkward or try to pressure me into staying. The money was back in my account a few days later. felt really fair

"I’ve been using Shortform for around a…"
I’ve been using Shortform for around a few months now, and it’s been handy when I don’t have time to sit down with a full book. The summaries are easy to follow, and I actually like the little notes and questions they include since they help the main points stick a bit better. I’m giving it 4 stars because the price feels a little high for about how often I use it, and there were a few books I looked for that weren’t available yet. Still, it’s a solid site overall and I do keep coming back to it

"Pretty straightforward overall"
Billing was mostly clear, and canceling wasn’t really hard. I did get one reminder kinda late, but support sorted it out quickly enough

"Pretty useful, but not full books"
I found this useful. Just know these are not full books. More like quick summaries or key points. Still helpful if you want the main ideas fast

"Just Works"
I’ve been using it for a while now, and it opens up quickly every time. Haven’t had any issues with it freezing or crashing, which is more than I can say for a lot of apps

"I’ll give them credit where it’s due…"
I’ll give them credit where it’s due, canceling only took a few minutes, and there wasn’t any weird hassle or runaround. I wasn’t exactly expecting it to be that painless, but it was

"I like it overall, honestly. The summaries…"
I like it overall, honestly. The summaries are easy to read and straightforward, which I appreciate. That said, some of the book summaries feel a bit too short, almost ridiculously short at times. Still useful, but I do wish a few of them had a little more detail.

"Helpful, but, a little pricey"
Shortform is useful when I don’t have time to sit down and read a whole book, and some of the summaries are actually really clear, and easy to follow. That said, it does feel a bit expensive for what it is. I also couldn’t find every book I looked for, and the app/site can be kind of clunky sometimes. Overall, it’s a decent service, just not something I’d want to keep paying for every single month.

"I don’t know, it’s better in some…"
I don’t know, it’s better in some ways maybe, but it still takes too long. I kept thinking it would move faster this time, and then I was just waiting again. Not terrible, just... still kind of frustrating

"Could be better..."
It’s okay overall, but honestly... I expected a bit more. There are a few things that could definitely be improved, so I wouldn’t say I’m completely satisfied.

"The recommendations are what hooked me"
I originally signed up for Shortform because I wanted quick book summaries, which, yeah, that part is great, but the personalized recommendations are kind of what made me stick around. After I saved a few topics I was into, it started showing me books I probably would’ve never searched for on my own, and a surprising number of them were actually right up my alley. Not every single one is a perfect match, but close enough that I keep checking. It’s especially nice when I’ve only got a few minutes and don’t feel like endlessly scrolling around trying to pick something. I don’t know, it just feels like it’s slowly figuring out my taste, which makes the whole thing easier to use.

"Helpful trial, and I didn’t feel tricked"
I’m always a little nervous with free trials because I don’t want to get fooled into paying for something I don’t actually use. But this one was genuinely helpful. The summaries made it way easier to figure out which books were worth my time, and I ended up picking books much faster than usual.

"Pretty straightforward pricing"
I liked that I could see the cost upfront, like around what I expected to pay, and there weren’t any weird surprise fees added later. Made the whole thing feel a lot simpler.

"Could use a lot more options"
It’s not bad, but I was hoping for more variety. After a little while, everything starts to feel kind of repetitive, and it makes me wonder if they’re more focused on pushing sales than actually improving the experience for customers. I’d be a lot more interested if they put some effort into offering more choices.

"Surprisingly Fast Account Updates"
I needed to make some changes to my account i was bracing myself for a whole dramatic ordeal, but it was actually done quickly. Like, I barely had time to start panicking before everything was handled. Super relieved!
